Letter from Robert Burns
6 Circus Gardens, Edinburgh, 12th May 1902
My Dear Robson,
I should have been desolated at the idea of leaving you in such a trying
position on Friday, were it not that I know you will rise to the occasion.
It is needless for me to suggest any points for your first speech which
will refer to the past year, as you are as well up in the past work of
the Society as I am
My only regret is that I will not have the pleasure of proposing you as
Chairman but I can at least wish you a successful year of office and as
aimiable a V.C. as I had
Salud, R Burns.
