Letter from Harold Speed from Onslow Studio, London,
28th July 1900
My Dear Robson,
How delighted we were to hear from you. I have often reproached myself
for not writing but I find as no doubt you have that self reproach is
no cure for procrastination, but I have been real glad to hear such
good accounts of all of you from Anderton occasionally. I should much
like to see you and Mrs Robson ( I nearly wrote Carmella) again also
the interesting yougsters, so that if you come to London without giving
me an opportunity of seeing you, a naturally forgiving nature will never
forgive you. One hears occasionally of and from Coleman and I much look
forward to a reunion one of these days on the enchanted island and often
dream of peacock seas, turkey suppers, tarantillas in dim lit arab tents,
etc. ~ rare good times. We shall be settling in the autumn in Holland
Park Road near Anderton, a studio and small flat, but are off to the
country now where I hope to paint. Clara joins me in sending hearty
good wishes to Mrs Robson and yourself.
All health, prosperity and happiness to you.
Always there, Speed
